If true, this is one of the things...

that really f**ks me off about Worthington. Instead of signing these players for peanuts (Leigertwood from Wimbledon and Chadwick from West Ham) he waits and then signs them afterwards for double the price.

I'd rather he signed 2 or 3 unproven young players than one more journeyman who did a job for Wolves a few years back.
