I don’t think he’s in a position to demand high wages at the moment.

For what it’s worth, I think he could turn it around if someone put some faith in him. I think people ignore the fact that he’s struggled with trauma and mental health issues in the last few years and it’s not been helped by being based in Turkey and Italy, where language barriers might also be isolating. Nobody has given him a chance over here since he struggled at Everton.
