I am from the town south of Tromsø, Harstad and know Tromsø fairly well.
The sun will have returned by the 26th of January, so the days will feel longer.
And we can watch City live every time, via Canaries.co.uk! Besides that...
There is a sight called Fjellheisen, a furnicular going up to a smaller top, with grest views of Tromsø City. U csn rrach it easiøy by bus, over to the the mainland across the bridge (Tromsø is on a relative small island)
Otherwise it's alwsys the polar museum and several other sightings.
Tromsø is now getting overly expensive due to an incredible rise in tourism, especially from Asia. Hotel rates doubles the rates of Oslo. Now a hotel room is at 300 quid per night!
Well, enjoy!
Ps: there is always boat trips with sea sight seeing and looking for whales or even seeing the northern lights.
Do use the official tourist board office, mind...
