Sarge - My take on the situation (guesswork)

1) He has been told by the USA management that his only chance of being considered for the WC is to play at a higher level

2) Doubt he would be a starter for any Premier League Team (even Burnley or Wolves). Not - quite -good enough.

3) However he would be a starter in the MLS....

4) Toronto's offer (or any other MLS team) is as yet not good enough.

5) However when a suitable offer is received....
