they weren't fit enough
they fielded badly
I don't think Stokes/McCullum/Bazball bring out the best in many of the players - batsman in particular - it's like playing 4 up front and aving a larf, without consequences - it'll work against poor teams; it'll sometimes work against better teams; but it's fundamentally flawed - I'm interested in maximising the chances of winning, not just enjoying the odd champagne moment
so yes, of course, we might well have lost anyway - but this was a very poor tour indeed - I think the coming weeks will reveal more much of that
