It's just the way the calendar has fallen this year

You could have had:
Dec 23, 27, 30 and Jan 3rd, but then fans would moan about having no Boxing Day fixture.

Next year has a much better calendar, with games naturally falling on Dec 23, 26, 30 and Jan 2
