I really wasn't trying to provoke. I know there is an anti-BBC position that some people

are now adopting but I've never really understood it. It has a unique national (and global) role that no other media organisation can fully replace. Does it need to improve and better align with its stated charter but I don't understand all the vitriol it attracts.
