i've checked my encyclopedias, apparently it is about a "Serienmörderer"

Dr Ann Burgess is a pioneering forensic nurse, researcher, and professor renowned for her groundbreaking work in victimology, trauma treatment, and criminal profiling, significantly influencing the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit and inspiring the series Mindhunter. Her research, particularly in the 1970s with rape victims, established protocols for treating trauma and led to collaborations with the FBI, profiling notorious serial killers and helping to develop modern criminal profiling techniques. She is a professor at Boston College and a key figure in forensic nursing, known as a "trailblazer" for victims' rights and care.

Edmund Emil Kemper III (born December 18, 1948) is an American serial killer convicted of murdering seven women and one girl between May 1972 and April 1973. Years earlier, at the age of 15, Kemper had murdered his paternal grandparents. Kemper was nicknamed the "Co-ed Killer", as most of his non-familial victims were female college students hitchhiking in the vicinity of Santa Cruz County, California. Most of his murders included necrophilia, decapitation, dismemberment and possibly cannibalism.

Found sane and guilty at his trial in 1973, Kemper requested the death penalty for his crimes. Capital punishment was suspended in California at the time, and he instead received eight concurrent life sentences. Since then, he has been incarcerated at California Medical Facility in Vacaville.

Robert Kenneth Ressler (February 21, 1937 – May 5, 2013) was an American FBI agent and author. He played a significant role in the psychological profiling of violent offenders in the 1970s and is often credited with coining the term "serial killer",though the term is a direct translation of the German term Serienmördere coined in 1930 by Berlin investigator Ernst Gennat. After retiring from the FBI, he authored a number of books on serial murders, and often gave lectures on criminology.

i don't think rk ressler is in any way connected to mark attanasio.
