in the cold light of day upon reflection i feel duty bound to tweak the thread title a tad

instead of 'irrational' it should have been 'irrelevent' or perhaps even more fittingly 'inconsequential'. i.e. fleeting things that are so low impactful or benign yet they are just incredibly irritating.

the polar opposite of a "force multiplier" as it were but in a way, the very same.
