it should be "*may* I get", but there's absolutely nothing wrong with this use of "get".

its official definition is "come to have, or receive". that's if you have to use the word 'get' instead of 'have' of course.

some people seem to think that "get" can only ever mean "fetch for oneself". this is incorrect (see definition above).

you're going to the shop to get a coffee, you can't wait to get a coffee, hello barista, please may I get a coffee. It's an entirely accurate and appropriate usage of the word.
