other seat prices may have been available. i got home on leave from cyprus that very day and hitched a lift into the city without a ticket just to take in the atmosphere. the folks that gave me a lift had their son with them who was going to the game and was supposed to be meeting up with a pal from canada whose flight had been delayed so they let me have his ticket in the barclay at face value.

talk about the planets aligning.

then for the final i got lucky again as i was summonsed to be a witness at a court martial in the uk, so got flown back at the army's expense and managed to blag a ticket for the final. the feller pleaded guilty in his court martial so i didn't even have to attend lol.
