I can't remember in which order they came in (which also doesn't necessarily mean the same order the approaches / negotiations happened), but if Knapper really thought that between Crnac, Schwartau, Diallo, Sarge, Makama and Marcondes we could sufficiently man the front three with consistent players of decent quality, then taking a punt on Jurasek as a bit of a luxury player isn't a terrible thing. If he doesn't work out then we maybe lose a few million, but if he does then maybe we get a talent who is worth far more than we paid.

However, with the other guys failing to consistently be of the level required and/or getting injured, we suddenly cannot afford for him to be in the luxury / long shot category.
