Duffy, Marcondes and the Mayor are, without being cruel, coming towards the end of their careers. Gibbs, Chrisene and Springett are young but have had long term injuries. Fisher is young and promising but currently out of position and struggling. Darling is a player I’ve obviously seen play for other teams but never thought, “I wish he played for us”. As for Sargent, he’s got a reasonable record in this division and is a willing runner, but if he was playing against us I don’t think I’d be too concerned. Well, I would at the moment, but that’s a different matter.

Of the ones you don’t mention, Forson and Crnac showed some promise last season. Diallo looked passable at times earlier this season. But it’s all been patchy and the former two looked worse this season than last.

Pointless saying it really, but it’s game over (and me saying that doesn’t change a thing).
