On his retirement he says that if he had been offered a playing role near his home, and further qualified that as being between Norwich and London, then he would have continued playing.
However he had offers but only from further away in the U.K. and in the Netherlands. He wasn’t prepared to move for it and so chose to retire.
Here’s the interesting part. He has recently qualified from a new FA programme, as a Technical Director, and he says that he sees his future career on the business side of football.
Given those two pieces of information, plus the social media post, I wonder whether he hasn’t been taken on in some kind of junior or intern role in that area at Norwich.
The only thing that I wonder about is precisely what he means with TD. It can be a mistranslation as in Dutch they tend to use that term for what we would see as Knapper’s role rather than what we use it for (I think Adams’ role?).
Either could explain it.
