He's in-situ, has a decent coaching CV with young players knows what the club is all about & means minimal disruption.

It also means Knapper doesn't have to, somehow, convince a Carrick or an O'Neill of why he should be their boss!!

There will be those at the club desperate for him to get a couple of good results in our next few games so they can quickly confirm his appointment.

With the root and branch review coming in May and based on what division we are in.
