Averages

Mean (Average): 48.2 points
• This is the traditional "magic number" you'll hear, representing the average target for survival.

• Median (Midpoint): 49.0 points
• This is arguably the more practical target. It means in 50% of seasons, 49 points or fewer was enough to stay up.

• Mode (Most Common): 49 points (Occurred 5 times)
• This reinforces 49 points as the most frequent survival threshold.

The True "Safe" Number is 51: While 49 is the median, a team achieving 51 points would have never been relegated from the 24-team Championship. This should be the modern benchmark for "guaranteed" safety, accounting for variance.
