He just seems totally disillusioned with the group of players he has.
The dressing room seems to have lost the manager.

I think we have to entertain the possibility that Manning is a decent coach and we also have a decent squad (better than our current position) but it's just not a good fit for whatever reasons nobody can work out.

The atmosphere is toxic which is reason enough for big changes.
