It is but not in the way you guys think it is.

Messi has out performed xG his whole career.

The best players/teams outperform xG and the poor players/teams unperformed xG

So if we are under performing xG we are probably a bad team but......we dont need xG to tell us that..... we have the league table which is a much better predictor of ability going forward based on sample sizes.
