Glad (not glad) someone else has noticed…:

“Eight points in November.” It’s a phrase that has been locked away in the darkest recesses of my yellow and green mind for 18 years, a chilling quote that became indicative of a time that seemed like rock bottom for modern day Norwich City.

Glenn Roeder used it so often during his first six months as Canaries manager that I briefly considered having it printed on a T-shirt. I don’t think Roeder would have seen the funny side. It wasn’t his sense of humour that inspired City’s revival in that 2007/08 season.

Roeder was always keen to remind those of us who were covering the Canaries some 18 years ago of the mess that he walked into.

“When I came in here we looked dead and buried,” he said after Championship survival was secured with a game to spare.

“You tell me any other club that has only got eight points in November and ends up avoiding relegation.”
