When the ref gives his first booking it sets the level the players know they have to keep within, both sets of players just didn't take any notice and kept antagonising each other with play acting, diving or snide kicks.

The only accusation that could be thrown at the ref was that he was a little inconsistant with his card waving. Though I bet he has a severe case of tennis elbow this morning
