To hire a loan manager with no track record as a director of football/chief scout/sporting director beforehand was just negligent. It's the most important position at the club and to hand it over to a complete novice has led us to this situation.

A loan manager has no history of unearthing promising players or recruiting good managers, they simply find suitable clubs for their youth players to join and monitor progress.

Its a question that is hopefully asked on Wednesday to Attanasio. We need to find out what track record Knapper had that made them confident he could do the job. It's been a very costly mistake
