For what its worth...

If I was Attanasio, I would sack Knapper and Manning, and ask Thorup to step back in till the end of the season with a chance to earn his job back long term. We dont have time to go on a long search again, and this will take a while if he needs to replace Knapper first, we need someone who knows the club, knows most of the group, and who at least knows how to score goals.

Ok, we let in silly goals with Thorup, but we are still doing this now. His football was much better though and he had the right idea, and I would argue he was sacked a bit unfairly.

Majority of these players were bought with Thorup in mind if you ask me, players like McConville, Wright, Cordoba, Marcondes, Jurasek were here under his watch and Chris Goreham, Mattsson, etc must have been targets while he was here. It feels like we have the players for plan A, but now the man with plan A isnt here.

Plus we must still be paying him. I thought he always came across very well, one of the best talkers we've had as manager. He made some mistakes, hung a few players out to dry publically and he will have learned from that, but now we need to get the right players into this team, players who JHT knows, and playing in a positive and pro active way.

If it doesn't work then so be it, but its better than sleepwalking into League 1, or taking a huge risk employing someone else through Knapper, or worse still employing a new manager without a sporting director at all. We need a short term fix that can get to work tomorrow morning.
