but at that stage of the game, for someone else to do whatever it is that would have been required .... it would be a guess certainly, but rational.

my other approach would be to banish useless faithfuls - if your chances of identifying a traitor are low, you may as well get rid of crap faithfuls to start with, and hope that randomly they're traitors
