What actually happened was a broken momentum when Lambert chose to leave, some steadying of the ship under Neil, and then of course the complete rebuild and new momentum under Farke which I agree went wrong when he was sacked and has ever since. But then I’m not entirely convinced that it wouldn’t have been a general decline even under Farke by that stage.
Many other ways of looking at it.
Maybe it all went wrong as simply as when we sold Buendia.
Maybe Farke already started to lose the team spirit in the strange covid times. Maybe he struggled to find a way to manage it. If it had never happened maybe he stays in the PL?
Maybe it was when Webber was able to spend a bit more money while he really had more success in the bargain basement market.
Maybe it all went wrong when Delia allowed the new investment in as many fans had been screaming for?
Maybe it was a bit of all of those things.
Or maybe it is just cyclical and we can all find a moment to mark as a pivotal moment to prove a point.
