Ultimately the club are looking to squeeze ever-greater amounts of cash from us, the fans [under the simplistic proviso that more cash = better players]

If they had announced that expansion/improvement of CR was impossible because the didn't want to inconvenience River Enders then I can imagine the overall fan backlash would have been almost equally vocal.
