They Won’t Sack Manning

I really cannot see Manning being sacked by Knapper. How does BK go to the owners and say “I sacked the bloke who got us to 6th because I thought JHT was better, but he wasn’t, so we paid him off, and we’ve paid a load to get Manning in and he’s rubbish as well”.
Unless the owners sack Knapper nothing will change.
