Its classic resistance to change , nothing more.
Ive probably sat in the river end a few times ever , and always tragic.
Old timers , young kids , no atmosphere and plenty of moans.
The way its always been. I lamented the end of the terraces , that was tragic , and altered the atmosphere forever.
I loved the anger , the young men feeling angst and wanting to fight. That was my era and I miss it.
Each to their own , but I can see why the club is making the decision. And after a few years, it will be forgotten.
The river end has a place, I can recall being in the Barclay , a misty mid week game and the haunting and slow ( the slowness was key) on the ball city coming from the river end. A bygone era
