The methods of currently proving your identity currently are bonkers - many places will now only accept a passport or driver's license (presuming that you drive). The number of places that now state they need two regular bills to your home address to prove where you live... (most now come digitally... No, you need to ask for an original copy, printouts don't cut it).

We already have separate codes (Id) for tax, for NHS (number), for local council, for voting, for passport, for drivers license...

The whole system is an incoherent mess which is ripe for exploitation.
