Firstly… I so want Liam Manning to do well, went to school with him, genuinely top bloke.
However, tactically, that was an utter shambles today. The left back Cordoba experiment should have been binned before the team sheets were even handed in, however after that first half it was abundantly clear that it was not working, neither defensively or offensively.
Then the second half happened. Parkinson identified the flaw at half time and order an all out assault of the right side. Wave after wave of exposure, with Diallo failing to cover and Cordoba like a fish out of water.
Yet he still did NOTHING to address it. Fisher left twiddling his thumbs on the bench. Instead he just rotates forward players. Honestly, I can’t forgive that level of tactical suicide. It’s schoolboy stuff, and it should have been sorted promptly.
This is the bit that worries me, if he can’t see the obvious, how on earth will he be astute enough to set a team up to unlock the opposition.
It’s simply inexcusable.
