Ah that’s a shame, my mother and my grandparents lived on Northumberland Rd

Which at the top comes out onto Rayners Lane opposite Pinner Village Gardens. They were proper Metroland pioneers having bought the house new in the early 30s. We would visit Nana and Auntie V in the 1970s and it was genuinely quite genteel there. Nana ran a haberdashery shop on Station Rd, North Harrow. There were still all front gardens and barely any traffic.
