You missed the point

Which is that he can't use any of the facilities because he looks androgenous and so he will be (and has been) challenged if he goes in the men's, the ladies, or the disabled (he does not outwardly look disabled).

He's not asking you to accept or reinforce anything. Just hoping to live a peaceful life.

Because what this is doing, in reality, isn't protecting anyone. It's policing how people look.
