IMHO, the club have done the only acceptable thing they could have done in this situation

They have got rid of a player who wanted out, who clearly had a bad attitude.

They did so at three times the money he was worth.

They did so knowing that the alternative was to have dropped him, while paying his wages for a year, and then let him go to Ipswich for free.

They have let Ipswich pay over the odds for a player who will not have any more of an impact on them than he did us. The joke really is on them, we are quids in and we've got shot of a bad apple. What's not to like?
