Players are mercenary but so are clubs.
We treat players like commodities or cattle that we buy and trade ( or shoot when they no longer meet the requirements)
Nunez is not a fan, he is a professional footballer.
He was probably offered a fat contract at Ipswich and took it.
We can blub and say he turned down contracts with us but do we know what he was offered?
Maybe he thought he could get more on the open market than being offered by us.
He didn't pick Ipswich over us, he picked money over us.
The club also chose money because it made sense.
Considering we know that he was available for 3M to any other club we charged a huge "Ipswich tax" knowing the fans would be upset.
We sold Madison who was by far our best player and few people complained because it made financial sense.
