If you look back at history, what’s happening now isn’t all that different from before.

The English are a mix of people forged from different migrations. Every wave of newcomers were met with suspicion and distrust, ostracised, and attacked but over time they became part of the community. People naturally look for someone to blame when life feels unfair, whether it’s politics, religion, or race. That’s always been the case. The big difference now is that social media cranks up the negativity and makes it spread faster.
