People are so entrenched in their view points that they are incapable of seeing past them

Even when real world, first hand experience disprove everything they are arguing.

I was in a taxi recently and the driver was complaining that he felt like a second class citizen in his own country. He believes that people are just walking off dinghies and being given taxi licences.

He then went on to share his frustration at how long it has taken to renew his taxi licence because he was being asked to provide his current passport (which he couldn't because it had expired), along with no end of other documentation to prove that he was eligible to work in the UK.
