I'm not sure

That any country has seen immigration on the scale of the England in the last 10/15 years and happily remained integrated. I've made the point before- we currently lack a national story. Chuck in economic hardship and a good dose of self flagellation about privilege etc and whoosh.
I'm just back from Norway... the contrast is stark - Norwegian flags fluttering from buildings,no weekly race riots ... but not a country exactly known for its diversity (or likely to be anytime soon).
Immigration is both inevitable and potentially beneficial ... but requires an effort of integration into a cohesive society- we're the very opposite. I think it'll get much worse before it gets better (if it does). I just hope I'm wrong really
