“Migrants are net contributors to the economy”

That’s a very broad assertion.

Obviously some types of migrant are net contributors. Skilled workers from India or Hong Kong or Canada, for example, are very desirable migrants.

Equally obviously, however, other types of migrant are very unlikely to be net contributors - unskilled illegal migrants disappearing into the black economy for example
