The serious questions

Are to do with scale, and cost, and what one envisages as the end point (or at least, target).
We can accept any number of people eg, but are you prepared to build enough houses, and roads and schools? How much tax will you pay? Would you be prepared for your children to be in a minority of English speakers at school, or in a cultural minority? Etc etc.
They're serious questions but lost in a shouting match
