Special clause

There is a clause in the EFL regs that state a club is immune from this requirement if they had two home grown players and sold them for over 10k, and they are now playing in ‘the same division or higher’.

Reg 34.12 in the EFL handbook if interested.

The clause doesn’t appear to limit when those players were sold… only that the player is 24 or under on 1st January of this season.

I believe that we have Jon Rowe, Andrew Omibamidele, Adam Idah and Abu Kamara who were all homegrown players, and fit the criteria, and therefore we don’t have to use a homegrown player in order to be allowed our full 9 player bench allocation.
