I've watched a bit of the last 2 England games

the quality seems to have improved, and there have been some entertaining moments. So I can see that it will continue to gain popularity, which is a good thing.

However, for me, I am maxed out with football and am too old to get invested in anything else, so felt almost zero emotion when England scored the winning penalty last night. Perhaps I am dead inside.
