i took my car to have two front tyres replaced and tyre bloke said (he would) spend as much as you can afford on your tyres and proceeded to empty a kettle of water on the floor and then got the mostest expensive tyre and the cheapest and told me to put both hands on the tyre and full body weight and see the difference in resistance between the two, the cheap tyre was like it was on ice and the expensive one was like it was on sandpaper, huuuuge difference in grip. then he said now add in your family and a car as weight on four tiny points of contact.
