I think that he came over as a nice guy and didn't seem bitter about it.
A couple of things caught my attention...he acknowledged the defensive issues but didn't seem to take any responsibility for them. He talked about fixing them in pre-season / next season when clearly it was partly a coaching issue. He also didn't have an answer for the inability to hold onto a lead, apart from argue that it was good that we took the lead in the first place.
There did seem a sense that he wasn't completely clear on what he was supposed to be achieving last season. All this talk of long term projects etc but what were the goals for 24/25? We can get on board with a long term project if there are signs that it is going in the right direction. After Blackburn (A) the wheels fell off and he didn't seem to have an answer. This (and some of the behind the scenes stuff that has been hinted at) seems to be the reason they pulled the trigger.
I do agree that if he'd been luckier with injuries and suspensions (and goalkeepers!) we would have made the Play offs and he would probably still be here. With another window he might have done a Farke, but overall I am happier with the pragmatism of Manning.
