You need specialist advice tbf but is there a Doctor....

in the area (an English one in Benidorm maybe - not far from Alicante) who is able to confirm to the acceptance of both Spanish & UK law that your mother is no longer capable of making decisions on her own behalf? Alternately your mother must have been registered to a Dr given she has lived in Spain so long? Can they help? Maybe if that was the case you could get - some - money released to help with costs.

No other ideas. Hopefully someone on here can provide better advice but it's a horrible situation to be in so hope it resolves soon.
