No, I don’t agree

I don’t think they are necessarily better equipped to reach sensible judgements. If you are of the opinion that younger people are insufficiently mature or mentally developed, then you also have to accept that cognitive decline, which starts in some people before they’re 50, also negatively affects the ability to vote wisely. And no, they don’t all keep up with modern developments, and neither do all younger people. (And I don’t think old people are selfish either, but some are, and you can say exactly the same for 16 year olds…)

So, having considered it, I don’t think it will do any harm to widen the electorate.
