Michael Owen. Class, no doubt about it. But come on, his injury. Hopefully there is someone on here with medical knoweldge, but, how come, I and mates, and, I expect most of you can and have played 50-60 plus games of football a season in local leagues etc, hardly ever get injured and are more or less fit for every game?
I've said for AGES that modern footballers are TOO fit-like a Formula 1 car, yes, tuned to near perfection, but the slightest twinge or nudge knocks them out. Is that the case-think of teams back in the 80's, Liverpool once famously used 13/14 players in a whole season-now some clubs use that many in one game! And there used to be as many games. Was it because those players were not quite as perfect, not quite as tuned etc?
Sorry, but I don't want to hear another interview with Gerrard which sees him saying "...we need to improve..." -stop saying the obvious Steve! Incidentally, you are a f**king great player!
What was the point of taking Walcott, he obviously isn't going to get a game.
2nd half last night made me think of the play off final-all 11 men back, giving the ball away time and time again, it was as inevitable that Sweden would score as it was that Birmingham would.
Thankfully Holland-Argentina tonight, could be a classic.
