There was an article earlier in the week about how things have changed from hearing about First Division transfers in the national papers after they were completed and for small clubs in the weekly local paper. Now there is so much speculation and agent chat that almost nothing is a surprise except perhaps on deadline day.

As a Norwich fan not in Norwich in the 70's the first I probably heard of major transfers would have been seeing match reports, maybe Ceefax.
