they were very close to nuclear weapons, but dont have them yet.

But they cannot be allowed to get them as if one of their proxies ended up with one that would be the disaster, not IRGC having them.

They wont fight in the mountains as there is no staging post for entering Iran en masse. The only boots on the ground would be CIA or Special Forces working behind the scenes, not a battle group.

They will be forced to negotiate through airstrikes alone and if they dont, be obliterated in the mountains by air leaving Iran open to becoming the next caliphate with the proxies battling it out for leadership. One big mess.
