There were not 'endless errors' in football before VAR

It wasn't an issue where people were clamouring for a solution. The introduction of VAR was a technology that was looking for a market.

Of course there were bad decisions before VAR (Henry v Ireland) and there are still bad decisions now, because football will always be subjective. But we now have bad decisions + delays. Bad decisions are now also more visible because of TV coverage and multiple angles. And I would imagine the stastistical improvement is mostly down to offside.

But most importantly VAR has degraded the experience of the matchgoing public. And that, for me, is more important than whether every decision in a game is technically correct.
