Variance is huge with just one game but over a season you basically finish where you deserve to finish.

I'm an agnostic analyzing data, you are looking for patterns in randomness.

We didn't lose against stoke and then become a good team
We were already a good team and you just have to play enough games over a significant sample to prove it.
