If we don't out perform our budget, we aren't getting promoted

Isn't it as simple as that? We're never going to have a budget to match the teams that have parachute payments unless we manage to get them ourselves.

I can only think of three ways we can over perform and we prob need a combo of them all:

1) Buy players that are undervalued compared to ability
2) Bring through youngsters (therefore cheap and deliver more than buying an equivalent player would)
3) Have a coach that gets the best out of the players from a tactical perspective and improves the players we already have
